
Established in 2005, UrbanBiz is a social enterprise that seeks to open up the doors of economic opportunity for disadvantaged groups. By offering services around enterprise, training, research and employment, UrbanBiz is able to inspire people and enrich communities.
From securing the first grant to set the social enterprise up, UrbanBiz has gone from strength to strength and has grown into an award winning regional business.

Capacitybuilders is a non-departmental public body (NDPB)
set up in 2006 to take over the management of the ChangeUp programme and to work with other funders to build the capacity of the Third Sector. They exist to create a more effective third sector and they do this by improving support for third sector organisations.
Social Enterprise Yorkshire and the Humber (SEYH)is a not for private profit company established to represent, promote and drive forward the development of the social enterprise sector in Yorkshire and the Humber. SEYH believes that social enterprises have a significant role to play in improving local economies and delivering change within communities whilst supporting people into employment.
Sheffield Community Enterprise Development Unit (SCEDU) is a social enterprise itself, was established 1995. SCEDU has a commitment to the development of existing and emerging community enterprises, social enterprises and small businesses operating in the most disadvantaged communities. SCEDU works across the country although mostly in Sheffield and Yorkshire.
SCEDU has played a key role in the development of the social economy in the region as founder members in the Yorkshire Key Fund and Social Enterprise Yorkshire and The Humber and is committed to the further development of social enterprise. The company has worked with local, regional and national government, mainstream and specialist business support providers, social enterprises in the UK, Poland and Belgium as well as small businesses in Sheffield.
